Is GTA 6 Coming to PC? What Rockstar Has Said

Rockstar has never announced a GTA 6 PC version, never ruled one out, and never given a window. Here's the real evidence, from Take-Two's own filing.

Rockstar has never announced a PC version of Grand Theft Auto VI. It has also never announced that there will not be one, and it has never given a PC window — no date, no year, not even a vague “later.” Those three statements together are the complete, defensible answer, and they are why this page does not have a countdown on it.

That is a less satisfying answer than the ones you have probably been served. It is also the only one supported by anything Rockstar or Take-Two has actually published.

What is confirmed

Grand Theft Auto VI launches Thursday, November 19, 2026, on PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S. That is it — those two console families, nothing else. Rockstar’s Newswire post announcing the date says so, Take-Two’s pre-order press release says so, and both storefront listings say so. The PlayStation Store listing adds explicitly that the game is not playable on PS4.

This has been consistent since the very beginning. The December 2023 reveal trailer’s Newswire post already read “Coming 2025 to PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S.” Every first-party platform statement since — the reveal, both delay announcements, the pre-order release, both storefronts — names the same two platforms and does not mention PC at all.

PlatformStatus
PlayStation 5 (incl. PS5 Pro)Confirmed, November 19, 2026
Xbox Series X|SConfirmed, November 19, 2026
PlayStation 4Explicitly not supported (PlayStation Store listing)
PCNot announced. No date, no window, no denial
Nintendo Switch 2Not announced (rumor only — see below)
Steam Deck, Linux, macOS, cloud streamingNo announcement of any kind

The strongest real evidence: Take-Two’s fiscal-2027 release table

Here is the piece almost nobody reporting on this question actually reads. Take-Two Interactive, Rockstar’s parent company, publishes a product release table in its quarterly investor materials listing the titles it expects to ship in a given fiscal year. The fiscal-2027 table — covering games shipping between April 1, 2026 and March 31, 2027 — lists Grand Theft Auto VI for PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S, with no PC entry.

That is a first-party document, filed with investors, and it is the single most concrete signal available. But it needs reading precisely, because it is routinely over-interpreted in both directions:

  • What it does mean: no PC version of GTA VI is scheduled to ship before March 31, 2027. A publisher does not omit a revenue-generating SKU from its own fiscal-year pipeline by accident.
  • What it does not mean: it is not a statement that a PC version does not exist, is not in development, or will never be released. A release table lists what is scheduled inside one window. Everything outside that window — including all of fiscal 2028 onward — is simply not addressed by the document.

So the filing rules out one thing and one thing only: a PC launch in the twelve months ending March 31, 2027. Anyone citing it as proof that “GTA 6 is not coming to PC” is misreading it, and anyone ignoring it entirely while confidently dating a 2027 PC release is ignoring the best evidence there is.

There is no PC listing anywhere

The other check anyone can run themselves: there is no PC storefront page for Grand Theft Auto VI on Steam, on the Epic Games Store, or on the Rockstar Games Store. Not a coming-soon page, not a wishlist entry, nothing.

That matters because Rockstar has already done the storefront work for the platforms it is actually shipping on. Pre-orders opened on June 25, 2026 at midnight local time across the PlayStation Store, Microsoft Store, the Rockstar Games Store and global retailers — every one of those a console SKU, at $79.99 standard and $99.99 for the Ultimate Edition. The infrastructure exists. The PC entry in it does not.

A corollary: because there is no announced PC version, there are no official PC system requirements. Any GPU/CPU/RAM table you have seen for GTA VI was invented by whoever published it.

What Take-Two actually says when asked

By the account of outlets that cover the earnings calls, Take-Two is asked about PC on essentially every one of them and has never gone further than a version of “nothing to announce today.” That is secondary reporting on call Q&A, not a published Take-Two statement — but no first-party material contradicts it, because no first-party material addresses PC at all.

On the May 21, 2026 call, CEO Zelnick declined to commit to any date or deadline for additional platforms, using only general language about further platforms in the future — that account is secondary, transcribed from the call rather than issued as a statement, and it is notable mostly for what it withholds. There has been no follow-up in the August 7, 2026 quarterly materials either, which reiterated the company’s fiscal-2027 outlook on the strength of the November 19 console launch without adding a platform.

Read plainly: the company is not denying a PC version and is not promising one. It is declining to discuss it, which is exactly what a publisher does with an unannounced SKU — and also exactly what a publisher does with a SKU that does not exist. The behavior is consistent with both, which is precisely why it cannot be used to predict anything.

The pattern every “GTA 6 PC release date” article is extrapolating from

Rockstar has a history here, and it is the entire basis of the dates you have seen. Grand Theft Auto V arrived on PC 18 months after its console launch. Red Dead Redemption 2 took roughly a year.

GameConsole-to-PC gap
Grand Theft Auto V~18 months
Red Dead Redemption 2~12 months
Grand Theft Auto VIUnknown — no PC version announced

Two data points make a pattern, not a schedule. Rockstar has never stated a policy of porting to PC, never committed to doing it again, and has said nothing whatsoever about VI in this context. If you have read an article confidently placing GTA 6 on PC in early 2027 or late 2027, what you read was that table with arithmetic applied to November 19, 2026 — presented as reporting. There is no source behind those dates because there is no source to have.

Switch 2, Steam Deck and everything else

Nintendo Switch 2 comes up constantly and belongs in the rumor column, not this one. Insider claims have circulated — one alleging Rockstar had cleared the technical hurdles via port specialists but that nothing would arrive in 2026, and another insider responding that he had specifically not heard the port was coming, only that Nintendo was trying to make it happen. Rockstar, Nintendo and Take-Two have all said nothing on the record. A separate viral “Switch 2 announcement” image traces back to a self-described satire account.

Steam Deck, Linux, macOS and cloud streaming have no announcement of any kind attached to them. Given that Steam Deck compatibility is downstream of a PC build existing at all, that follows automatically.

How you will know if it changes

A real PC announcement will look like one of three things, all of which are easy to verify yourself: a post on rockstargames.com/VI or the Rockstar Newswire, a PC entry appearing in a Take-Two quarterly product release table, or a live PC storefront listing. Rockstar’s official home for the game is rockstargames.com/VI and there is no other official domain — every “gta6.com”-style site is fan-run or SEO content, which is worth remembering when one of them “breaks” a PC date.

Until one of those three things happens, the accurate sentence is the one at the top of this page: Rockstar has not announced a PC version of Grand Theft Auto VI.

Frequently asked questions

Is GTA 6 coming to PC?

Rockstar has not announced a PC version of Grand Theft Auto VI. It has also never said there will not be one. As of August 2026 there is no PC release date, no PC window, and no PC storefront listing anywhere.

What platforms is GTA 6 launching on?

PlayStation 5 (including PS5 Pro) and Xbox Series X|S, on November 19, 2026. The PlayStation Store listing states it is not playable on PS4. Those two console families are the only platforms in any first-party statement.

Is GTA 6 on Steam?

No. There is no GTA VI listing on Steam, and none on the Epic Games Store or the Rockstar Games Store either. Pre-orders opened June 25, 2026 on PlayStation Store, Microsoft Store, the Rockstar Games Store and global retailers — all for the console versions.

Will GTA 6 come to PC in 2027?

Nobody outside Rockstar knows. Take-Two's fiscal-2027 product release table, which covers titles shipping between April 1, 2026 and March 31, 2027, lists GTA VI on PS5 and Xbox Series X|S with no PC entry — so no PC version is scheduled to ship inside that window. Anything beyond that is unannounced.

Are there GTA 6 PC system requirements?

No. Rockstar has published no PC system requirements, because it has not announced a PC version. Any spec sheet circulating is fabricated.
