Control Resonant PC Requirements & Mac Support
Control Resonant's Steam minimum and recommended specs, the 100 GB storage figure, DLSS 4.5 and path tracing, and when the Mac version actually arrives.

Control Resonant’s Steam minimum asks for an Intel i5-8500 and a GeForce GTX 1070 or Radeon RX 5600 XT, with the recommended tier stepping up to a Ryzen 7 3700X and an RTX 3070 or RX 6700 XT. Both tiers demand 100 GB of storage and 16 GB of RAM. That is the entire officially published PC spec sheet — there is no extended 1440p/4K tier list, and one field on the sheet still reads “TBD.”
Here is everything Remedy and its storefronts have actually published, plus the Mac question, which has a real answer that is not September 24.
Official Steam requirements
Quoted as published on the Steam store listing, the only official PC spec sheet that exists for this game:
| Minimum | Recommended | |
|---|---|---|
| OS | Windows 10 / 11 (64 bit) | Windows 10 / 11 (64 bit) |
| Processor | Intel i5-8500 or AMD equivalent | Ryzen 7 3700X or Intel equivalent |
| Memory | 16 GB RAM | 16 GB RAM |
| Graphics | Geforce GTX 1070 / Radeon RX 5600 XT (6GB) | Geforce RTX 3070 / Radeon RX 6700 XT (8GB) |
| Storage | 100 GB available space | 100 GB available space |
| Sound Card | TBD | TBD |
Both tiers also carry the standard “Requires a 64-bit processor and operating system” line. The gap between them is unusually narrow: RAM is identical at 16 GB, storage is identical at 100 GB, and so is the OS row. The only real steps are the CPU class and a 6 GB → 8 GB VRAM jump.
The “Sound Card: TBD” placeholder means this sheet is provisional
Note the last row. “Sound Card: TBD” appears on both tiers, unreplaced as of August 25, 2026 — an unfilled template field on a live store page four weeks before launch. Plan around this sheet, but expect an updated version before September 24, and date any spec comparison you read, including this one.
What the spec sheet does not say
This is the part most requirement articles get wrong.
- Neither tier states a target resolution or framerate. The “minimum = 1080p/30, recommended = 1080p/60” mapping circulating online is not on the Steam page — someone assumed it.
- Neither tier states whether upscaling is assumed. The store does not say whether these GPUs are expected to hit their unstated target natively or with DLSS on. There is no way to infer it from the published fields, so we are not going to.
- No DirectX version is listed, despite that being a standard Steam field.
- No explicit SSD requirement is listed, despite the 100 GB footprint. Steam says “100 GB available space” and nothing about drive type.
- No extended multi-tier sheet exists. Remedy has not published a 1440p/4K/Ultra breakdown. If you see one, check where it came from.
100 GB is the number worth planning for
Both tiers list 100 GB of available space — more than double the original Control Ultimate Edition’s footprint. Console install sizes for PS5 and Xbox Series X|S have not been published, so this is the only storage figure any storefront has put in writing.
Ray tracing and upscaling: DLSS 4.5 and path tracing
The PC feature set was announced separately, at GDC 2026 in March, in a Remedy Steam news post titled “CONTROL Resonant Launching With NVIDIA DLSS 4.5 and Path Tracing.”
| Technology | Status |
|---|---|
| NVIDIA DLSS 4.5 | Confirmed at launch |
| Path-traced rendering | Confirmed at launch |
| RTX Mega Geometry | Confirmed at launch |
| Ray Reconstruction | Confirmed at launch |
| DLSS Dynamic Multi Frame Generation | Confirmed at launch |
| AMD FSR | Not confirmed |
| Intel XeSS | Not confirmed |
That last pair matters. The announcement names only NVIDIA technologies. No source confirms FSR or XeSS support, and you should not assume parity just because most 2026 releases ship all three — if you are on a Radeon or Arc card, the upscaling situation is genuinely unknown. Note too that no source ties path tracing to a hardware tier: the recommended RTX 3070 row does not say whether it is a path-tracing-on figure or a raster one.
Performance targets: nothing first-party
There is no Remedy statement of framerate targets or performance/quality modes on any platform. What exists is a March 5, 2026 GamingBolt report — relaying an IGN preview from the game’s alpha stage — that Remedy was reportedly targeting 60 FPS on all platforms. That is secondary coverage of a preview, not a commitment. A related claim about a PS5 Pro ray-traced 60 FPS mode using PSSR is not supported by that reporting at all.
Mac: confirmed, but not at launch
Mac is a Remedy-confirmed platform for Control Resonant — and it is not part of the September 24 launch.
| Platform | Launch status |
|---|---|
| PC (Steam, Epic Games Store) | September 24, 2026 |
| PlayStation 5 | September 24, 2026 |
| Xbox Series X|S | September 24, 2026 |
| GeForce NOW | September 24, 2026 |
| Mac (Steam, Mac App Store) | “Later in 2026” — no date |
Remedy’s own site and its release-date announcement both list Mac via Steam and the Mac App Store as arriving later in 2026 — phrasing that has not changed since the December 2025 reveal. There is no month, no window, no Mac system requirements sheet, and no statement about Apple silicon requirements. Anyone quoting Mac specs for this game is quoting something Remedy has not published.
GeForce NOW is a launch platform
If your hardware falls short of the minimum tier, this is the relevant line: Remedy’s release-date announcement confirms the game “will also launch with support for GeForce NOW.” It is named alongside PS5, Xbox Series X|S and PC as a day-one platform, not a later addition.
Handhelds: Xbox yes, Steam Deck unrated
The Xbox store listing declares handheld availability in its own product data — the platform list includes “Handheld” and the listing carries a device-evaluation flag, covering ROG Xbox Ally-class hardware.
Steam Deck is a different story: no verification rating has been published, so the Deck badge on the Steam page is blank as of August 25. There is no Switch 2 listing of any kind.
Still unpublished
| Detail | Status as of August 25, 2026 |
|---|---|
| Steam Deck verification | Not rated |
| Denuvo / third-party DRM | No notice on Steam, no Remedy statement — unknown either way |
| Preload window | Not announced on Steam, PlayStation Store, Xbox or Remedy’s newsroom |
| PC unlock time | Steam publishes only the date “Sep 24, 2026” |
| Mac release date and specs | Not published |
| Console install sizes | Not published |
Two deserve a caveat rather than a guess. The DRM question has no answer in either direction — the absence of a Denuvo notice on a pre-release Steam page is not confirmation the game ships without it. And no preload date exists on any storefront, which is normal this far out but means any “preload starts on X” claim you see is invented.
Frequently asked questions
What are the PC requirements for Control Resonant?
Steam's minimum tier asks for an Intel i5-8500 or AMD equivalent, 16 GB of RAM and a GeForce GTX 1070 or Radeon RX 5600 XT (6GB). Recommended is a Ryzen 7 3700X or Intel equivalent with a GeForce RTX 3070 or Radeon RX 6700 XT (8GB). Both tiers list 100 GB of storage.
How much space does Control Resonant need on PC?
100 GB of available space, listed identically on both the minimum and recommended tiers. Steam does not specify whether an SSD is required.
Does Control Resonant have ray tracing and DLSS?
Yes. Remedy and NVIDIA announced at GDC 2026 that the game launches with DLSS 4.5 and path-traced rendering, alongside RTX Mega Geometry, Ray Reconstruction and DLSS Dynamic Multi Frame Generation. AMD FSR and Intel XeSS support has not been confirmed.
Is Control Resonant coming to Mac?
Yes, via Steam and the Mac App Store, but not on September 24. Remedy has only ever said 'later in 2026' — there is no Mac date and no Mac system requirements sheet.
Is Control Resonant Steam Deck verified?
No rating has been published as of August 25, 2026. The Xbox listing does declare handheld availability, which covers ROG Xbox Ally-class devices, but Valve's Deck rating for the Steam version is still blank.
